Thanks for stopping by Marathons and Macarons!

I love to run, and I love to bake. I’ve run 14 half marathons and 2 marathons and am an RRCA certified run coach.

I started this blog in 2012, when I began training for my first half marathon. I grew up as a dancer and never did sports, but began running a few miles a week in college as a way to work out and soon became hooked. After my first 10K in Milan (while living abroad teaching English in Sicily) I decided to sign up for a half marathon.

After my first half marathon in September 2012

The following year, I did the New York Road Runner’s 9+1 program (9 races, 1 volunteer) for guaranteed entry into 2014 NYC Marathon, when I ran my first 26.2 miles at 26 years old.

The 2014 NYC Marathon was also my mother’s first marathon!

In May 2016, I ran my second marathon in Ottawa, Canada, with a 32-minute PR!

I’m now trying to balance life as a grad student in London with running, traveling, and lots of dessert . Follow along for the ride!

  1. Hi! New to your blog and just wanted to say hi. It’s awesome you are coaching for Girls on the Run! And I was in Italy this summer and SO JEALOUS you got to live and study there. I lived in China for a while and that was where I decided to train for my first race (a marathon, nonetheless!) and I love how grounded running can make you feel when you are living in another country. I look forward to reading more!
