Goat Yoga!

On Sunday I checked something off my Austin bucket list:

Goat Yoga!

Yes, this is a real thing.

Yes, it is possibly the most basic white-girl thing I could do.

No, I did not care.

BABY GOATS!IMG_0026

To be fair, it was more playing with baby goats and taking pictures with baby goats than doing yoga, but we really did do a yoga class. I felt bad for the instructor because no one was paying much attention – we were too distracted by the baby goats!

Can you tell which one was my favorite?…

Throughout the class, the goats’ owner (different from the instructor) came around and put goats on our backs during poses.

They also just romped around us, trying to eat our shoelaces and purses!

There were 6 or 7 goats total!

After the class, there was of course a photo op. That’s what we had come for, after all!

The class was at an event space overlooking beautiful Lake Travis, about a half hour northwest of Downtown Austin. They served brunch after the class, and although it wasn’t quite warm enough to eat outside, we were grateful for the 60-degree weather so we could do yoga outside with the goats!

If you’re up for a ridiculously adorable and unusual splurge, you should definitely try goat yoga. It’s totally silly and whimsical, and is mostly just playing with baby goats…but really, what more could you want?!
