Join me on Saturday, November 11th when the Wanderlust 108 Festival comes to Austin!
The Wanderlust Festival is a really cool event in which participants take part in a “mindful triathlon”: run or walk a 5K, take an outdoor yoga class, and do a guided meditation. There is also live music, vendors, food, and other workshops throughout the day.
Wanderlust events are happening throughout the US and around the world; check out the events in other cities if you can’t make it to Austin!
In Austin, the first leg of Wanderlust 108 will kick off with a 5K run through The Travis County Expo Center. High-energy yoga classes from Chelsey Korus and Adriene Mishler will be followed by a grounding meditation led by Vinny Ferraro. The beats of DJ Sol Rising will provide the soundtrack to the day’s events.
New this year, in addition to the main events, participants can add a scheduled bonus class such as aerial yoga, acro-yoga (that’s what I’ll be trying!), hooping, walking meditation, photography or essential oils workshops, or a community yoga experience from local teachers. At all Wanderlust 108 events, the marketplace will showcase local craft vendors, including clothing, jewelry, and handcrafted items. Local and organic food vendors will be on site, as well as a retail store and juice bar collaboration between Wanderlust and adidas housed in a 60 foot, geodesic dome. Wanderlust is also donating a portion of every ticket sale to No Kid Hungry!
“Wanderlust’s mission is to help you find your true north — to cultivate your best self — and
Wanderlust 108 was created to support that mission at a large scale. Wanderlust 108 will foster
individual wellness and positive social change by building community around mindfulness practice
such as yoga and meditation. Mindfulness practice has been proven to have many benefits, including
anxiety reduction and improved cognition. Wanderlust 108 provides an entry into mindfulness that is accessible, affordable, inclusive and fun.”
I was given a press pass to attend the 2017 Wanderlust 108 Festival.
